February 11, 2025 – A motorcyclist has died following Monday’s 6 p.m. crash with a Honda Civic on Nolensville Pike at Haywood Lane. The preliminary investigation indicates Austin Harrison, 25, was traveling between the two outbound lanes at a high rate of speed when the Honda, which was facing inbound, was making a left turn on the green light without the green left arrow.
As the Honda made the left, Harrison’s Harley Davidson struck the passenger’s side of the Honda. Harrison and the two female occupants of the Honda were all transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Harrison died at Vanderbilt. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The two female occupants of the Honda both had non-life threatening injuries. The 20-year-old driver was cited for driving without a license.
There were no signs of impairment at the scene on part of either driver.
MNPD reminds motorcyclists to be visible, give yourself space, be aware of other motorists’ blind spots and wear a helmet.
