A motorcyclist is hospitalized with critical injuries after colliding with an MNPD patrol SUV early Saturday on Lebanon Pike near Tyler Drive.
Officer Conner Roell was traveling east on Lebanon Pike with emergency equipment activated at 12:40 a.m. enroute to the Wal-Mart parking lot where a vehicle was reportedly attempting to hit pedestrians. Officer Roell saw what he believed to be the suspect vehicle traveling west on Lebanon Pike and initiated a U-turn when a Kawasaki motorcycle traveling behind him collided with the driver side of the police SUV. The motorcycle rider, Evan Davis, 22, of Mt. Juliet, is being treated at Skyline Medical Center.
The collision remains under investigation.
