January 30, 2025 – A Nashville man is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, assault against a police officer, evading arrest and reckless driving after ramming vehicles on Broadway at 8th Avenue South, apparently upset by congested downtown traffic following Wednesday night’s Nashville Predators hockey game.
William Adams, 24, had driven around barricades when he was approached by a uniformed MNPD officer who was directing traffic at a fixed post. When the officer told Adams to turn off his vehicle and show him his driver’s license, he refused and placed the vehicle, a pickup truck, into reverse. Prior to driving off at a high rate of speed, Adams struck three small sedans, all occupied by persons who could have been seriously injured, and narrowly missed a police officer.
Further investigation resulted in Adams being located this morning at his Ewing Drive residence where he was taken into custody. A judicial commissioner set bond for Adams at $53,000.
