Jonathan’s Path, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting teens in foster care and those transitioning into independent living, was honored with the prestigious Governor’s Excellence Award for Non-Profits. The award was presented by Governor Bill Lee, First Lady Maria Lee, Department of Children’s Services (DCS) Commissioner Margie Quinn, and Lance Villio, Executive Director of the Tennessee Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative, during the launch event for Every Child TN.
Every Child TN is a comprehensive statewide initiative that provides Tennesseans with a coordinated entry point to support children, youth, and families impacted by foster care. Every Child TN seeks to unite resources and efforts to create lasting, positive impacts for those in the foster care system. Jonathan’s Path, as a network partner of Every Child TN, has been instrumental in this mission, particularly through their dedicated work with teens in foster care and those on the brink of independence. The organization’s innovative programs and unwavering commitment to fostering resilience and empowerment among these youth have earned them this distinguished recognition.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the Governor’s Excellence Award for Non-Profits,” said Carrie DuRard, Co-Founder of Jonathan’s Path. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and dedicated volunteers. It underscores the importance of supporting our most vulnerable populations. We are proud to be a part of Every Child TN and to continue our mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of foster youth across the state.”
Lance Villio praised Jonathan’s Path for its outstanding contributions, stating, “Jonathan’s Path embodies the spirit of service and compassion that Every Child TN stands for. Their efforts have not only provided critical support to foster youth but have also set a standard for excellence in nonprofit leadership.”
