Hattori Nori is now open at L&L Market in West Nashville. The new restaurant opened on July 8, bringing a new, intimate dining experience to Music City. The concept is centered around chef-driven handrolls, served one at a time and handed directly to guests as soon as they are rolled, so the seaweed stays crisp, and each bite is served exactly as intended. The restaurant was founded by local chef Art Stacks, who is known for Ricey & Co. and his residency at Skye Lounge at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown.
Hattori Nori takes a classic Japanese dining style and makes it feel fresh, elevated and approachable for Nashville. The menu pairs warm seasoned rice, fresh fish and premium nori with a signature snap, creating a handroll experience that is both simple and carefully crafted.
The counter experience is a major part of the concept. Guests sit close to the chef and the team as each handroll is prepared, making the meal feel personal, immediate and connected to the craft behind it.
Every part of Hattori Nori was designed with intention. From sourcing the fish, rice, nori, and supporting ingredients to selecting the tableware, glassware, printed menus, lighting, and signage, each detail was chosen to enhance the overall experience.
The space itself is also part of the story. More than 1,000 individual wood slats were installed by hand to create a warm, layered texture throughout the restaurant. That attention to detail mirrors the precision that goes into each handroll.
The menu design also helps bring the Hattori Nori brand to life, with custom illustration and a two-sided layout that balances refinement, ceremony, edge and confidence.
Rooted in craft, precision and Japanese dining culture, Hattori Nori was created so that the food, counter service, design and atmosphere all feel connected.
Hattori Nori is located inside L&L Market (3820 Charlotte Ave,) in West Nashville.
