Harpeth River State Park is inviting nature lovers of all ages to celebrate Migratory Bird Day with a unique, hands-on event: DIY Bird Feeder Sunglasses. The workshop will take place on Friday, May 17, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Hidden Lake Picnic Area.

Participants will have the chance to create their own wearable bird feeders—sunglasses designed to attract and feed birds—while learning about the fascinating world of migratory birds. Park staff will lead discussions on why birds migrate, the routes they travel, and the species visitors might spot in Tennessee during the spring migration season.

The event is designed to be fun and educational for all ages, combining creativity with conservation. Once completed, the bird feeder glasses can be taken home and used throughout the summer to observe feathered visitors up close.

Ticket options include a basic $5 attendance fee, with additional donation-based tiers available:

* $10 (includes a $5 donation)
* $15 (includes a $10 donation)
* $20 (includes a $15 donation)

All proceeds support park programming and environmental education efforts.
