Framework, a Finnish-inspired traditional sauna and cold plunge studio dedicated to enhancing physical, mental and social health, is excited to announce the opening of its flagship location on Jan. 3, 2025. Located in the rapidly developing Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood adjacent to downtown at 1411 4th Ave South, the state-of-the-art facility draws on centuries-old traditions and cutting-edge scientific research to offer a comprehensive hot and cold exposure experience aimed at improving overall wellbeing.
Top-of-the-Line Products, Design & Build-Out
The more than 5,000-square-foot space—designed by Centric Architecture and built from the ground up by City Construction specifically for sauna and cold plunge usage—will feature seven traditional saunas and 13 cold plunge tubs, including communal and private options in both indoor and outdoor spaces for fully customizable relaxation, rebalancing and socialization. The saunas are custom designed by Cedar & Stone Nordic Sauna out of Duluth, Minnesota, and feature thermally-modified ash and cedar woods and imported Finnish heaters. When paired with the cold plunges from COLDTUB and waterfall showers, Framework provides guests with the full thermic cycle so they can reap all of the benefits of contrast therapy with the added benefit of socialization. Full-amenity locker rooms, towels and showers are included in each visit. Onsite parking is available at adjacent parking lots for convenience.
“Our mission is to create a community-focused space that makes regular hot and cold exposure a simple, enjoyable and effective part of daily life,” said Allen Penn, founder of Framework. “Since opening our launch location in February, we’ve welcomed thousands of people and have seen firsthand how these age-old practices can deliver real, lasting benefits. Our flagship location is designed to build on that success, offering a beautiful, modern environment where people can come together, improve their health and experience the transformative mental and physical effects of sauna and cold plunge in a social setting.”
Backed by Centuries of Tradition and Proven Scientific Research for Health Improvement
Framework is the first and only facility in Nashville to offer a combined traditional sauna and cold plunge experience which, as supported by quality peer-reviewed scientific research, has notable and lasting health benefits. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 60 percent of Americans are living with a chronic disease (source), and regular traditional sauna usage has been scientifically proven to reduce the risk of more than half of those identified chronic diseases. Similarly, regular cold water exposure has been shown to not only assist physical recovery, but mental health and mood.
Membership Structure
Framework’s membership model is designed to create a routine tied to these health benefits, with memberships starting at $119 per month for four monthly sessions, $199 per month for eight monthly sessions and an unlimited membership option for $299 per month. Memberships also include monthly guest passes, private room booking discounts, café and retail discounts and priority booking. Discounted Founding Member pricing is available until Dec. 31. Framework also offers drop-in sessions for $35 weekdays and $59 on weekends, as well as private event bookings.
Featuring Nashville’s First Non-Alcoholic Cafe
Simultaneously, Framework is proud to announce the launch of The Café at Framework, Nashville’s first non-alcoholic café, located on the second floor of the studio. Designed to extend the social and health experience of sauna and cold plunge, The Café showcases homemade, local and curated beverages that demonstrate the momentum in the non-alcoholic beverage sector.
In collaboration with local partners: Matt Tocco and Branson Summers of Bitter Earth Libations, Crema Coffee, Radish Kitchen and more, The Café at Framework’s menu will showcase bespoke zero-proof cocktails, tea sodas, a full espresso program, draft non-alcoholic beer and kombucha, and curated canned and bottled N/A favorites. Guests will also enjoy a selection of healthy snacks to fuel up before or after their session. This new concept seamlessly integrates with the Framework experience, providing members and visitors a unique space to refuel and recharge. The Café is open to Framework members, guests and the general public.
Penn added, “Our motto is ‘Sweat, Shiver, Socialize’ which supports our goal for Framework to be a place where health meets socialization. Instead of always going out for drinks, people are seeking new social experiences that will improve their health, and Framework offers just that.”
Hours of Operation
Framework is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Café at Framework hours may vary.
