Update: The 44-year-old driver killed in Tuesday night’s crash on Murfreesboro Pike has been identified as Sarah Parsons, of Nashville.
The female driver of a Nissan Xterra has died following Tuesday’s 9:25 p.m. single-vehicle crash on Murfreesboro Pike at British Woods Drive. The preliminary investigation indicates the Nissan was traveling west when, for an unknown reason, it went across the eastbound lanes, left the roadway, went down an embankment and struck a utility pole.
The 44-year-old driver was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died. Efforts are underway to notify her family.
There were no signs of impairment at the scene.
