Quick work and keen observation by Entertainment District Unit officers Thursday night led to the arrest of two thieves who fraudulently stole money from a victim’s phone on Broadway. Officers witnessed the male victim give his phone to Kesean Rondell Johnson, 20, who they were familiar with from similar scamming interactions.

As officers approached, Johnson walked off. The victim showed his phone to officers and three separate transactions were made in which a total of $2,000 was stolen from the victim’s account.

Officers located Johnson and a 17-year-old girl he was with at the time of the transactions. A stolen credit card was located in Johnson’s pocket as he was being detained.
