Samantha Reneé Wade was born June 23, 1988, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Hanley J. Wade, Sr. and Tammy L. (Smotherman) Wade. She was called home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024, at the age of 36.
Samantha, affectionately known as Sam, gave her life to Christ at an early age. She rededicated her life on June 30, 2024.
Sam was a loving mother to two wonderful sons, Kevin and Kori Phillips. Her children were so dear to her heart.
She was a certified home health aide and also worked with her father in the family business, A1 Janitorial Service. Sam was a giving person–always thinking of others. In that spirit of giving to others, Sam decided to be an organ donor. Her final act of selflessness saved three lives upon her demise.
In her spare time, she enjoyed watching movies, bowling with her family, dancing, fishing, singing and swimming. She also enjoyed long walks with her niece, Hannah, and feeding fish in the park with her nephew, Malachi. Family gatherings with her siblings, Monica, Nerissa and Hanley, Jr., warmed her heart and kept a smile on her face. Sam shared many heartfelt talks and happy times with her mother and father. Her aunts, uncles and cousins also held a special place in her heart.
Samantha was preceded in death by her beloved father, Hanley J. Wade, Sr.; grandparents, Daniel Wade, Sr., Amanda Wade, and Bobby Smotherman, Sr.
Loved ones left to cherish Samantha’s memory, sons, Kevin and Kori Phillips; mother, Tammy L. Smotherman; loving grandmother, Willie Jean Smith; brother, Hanley Wade, Jr.; sisters, Monica Wade (Detroit, MI) and Nerissa Wade; devoted great uncles, Ernest and Joseph Murray; devoted cousin, Pastor Robert (Harmonie) Hall; and many other family and friends.
