July 12, 2024 – Early on the morning of July 12th, a routine traffic stop on Highway 386 in Hendersonville quickly escalated. At approximately 2:56 AM, Sumner County deputies signaled for a vehicle to stop due to a traffic violation. Instead of complying, the driver chose to evade and sped away.

Deputies quickly responded by deploying a stop stick device, which successfully disabled all four tires of the fleeing vehicle. They apprehended the driver, who was identified as Zyshon Donnell from Nashville.

Donnell now faces several serious charges, including felony evading arrest, illegal possession of a handgun by a felon, and trafficking in cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

Donnell’s arrest comes just months after his release from an eight-year prison term in February.
