A business owner in Dickson County has been indicted on multiple charges, WSMV reports.
After an investigation with the Tennessee Department of Revenue. 57-year-old Teresa Lynn McCandless Overton, was charged with the following:
Theft over $10,000, 1X
Tax evasion, 9X
Destruction and tampering of governmental records related to the filing of false sales return, 9X
Overton could serve up to a maximum of six years in prison. She also faces a fine of up to $10,000 for the theft charge. Overton could face additional sentencing and fines for the tampering and tax evasion charges, according to WSMV.
Overton was booked on a $75,000 bond.
