Tom Hartley Trisdale, born 1932, departed this earthly life on Friday, June 14, 2024; one day following his 92nd birthday.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Peyton Trisdale and Ollie E. Wilson Trisdale; siblings, Robert Nelson Trisdale and John Trisdale. Also preceding him in death are his first wife Martha Sue Maynard Trisdale (m. 1971) and his second wife Madge Scott Tomlin Trisdale (m. 1997.)
Tom is survived by nephew Johnny (Sue) Trisdale and niece Linda (Ricky) Bixler, along with several beloved great-nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
As a young man, Tom enlisted in the United States Army and spent fifteen months stationed in Korea, finishing his military career as a Military Police Officer. He was a long-term employee of the DuPont company.
After retirement he enjoyed fixing things and had a knack for mechanics. He was often found tinkering on clocks, VCRs and radios. Tom had a determined, self-reliant personality and led an active lifestyle into his later years. He began most mornings at the gym. Most evenings, he could be seen walking his neighborhood. This made him a well-acquainted friend among those living nearby.
Tom’s remains rest at Woodlawn- Roesch- Patton Funeral Home and will be interred at Woodlawn Memorial Park located at 660 Thompson Lane Nashville, Tn. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am through 11:15 am with graveside service to follow from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Martha Sue Trisdale.
