Owen Nathaniel Willers, age 18, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Owen came into this world with his best friend and twin sister, Izzy on February 5, 2006. He was born three months prematurely and quickly earned his forever nickname, Tank, fighting his way out of the neonatal intensive care unit into his parents’ loving arms. Owen was an angel living amongst us. He was caring, kind, loyal, hardworking, and earnest. He put others first always. Owen’s heart was pure gold.

Owen attended and recently graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy on May 30, 2024, and had planned to attend Davidson College in the fall where he had planned to study psychology and philosophy.

At MBA he excelled and thrived. Owen served on the school Honor Council for six years and served as president his senior year. He embraced the brotherhood, worked hard, and cherished his friends and teachers. It was at MBA, he discovered his love, passion, and gift for drawing and pushed his creativity under the guidance of his wonderful art teachers.

When not in school, Owen loved laughing at his brother Charlie’s quick wit, working out for hours in the gym, and listening to music. Although being a twin is always a set up for competition and comparison, Owen was proud of his twin sister, Izzy, and never passed an opportunity to tell her how smart and amazing she is. Owen also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, George and Eddie, who followed him everywhere he went.

Owen is preceded in death by his aunt Anne, Grandma Jean, and his Grandpa Jim.

He leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts, but we are blessed to have known such an amazing soul for the past 18 years. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Liz Willers, sister Izzy, brother Charlie, and a large extended loving family. His selfless spirit will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Montgomery Bell Academy, his alma mater.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:00 am following brief comments by the family which will begin at 9:45 am at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 3001 Belmont Blvd. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery located at 1001 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
